In today's fast-paced urban life in India, relaxation often means dining out with family or sharing drinks with friends at home or in pubs. However, living in vertical apartments restricts outdoor activities. Unlike the Western world, where backyards, camping, and BBQs are common, urban India craves outdoor experiences which seem impossible in apartment settings.

Recognizing this loss, we aimed to develop a product that brings back these cherished experiences and creates new memories within the convenience of urban balconies. Our vision was to reconnect people with nature and foster family bonds through outdoor experiences, right in their homes.

About Founding Members

Our founders often reminisced about the fun-filled activities of their childhoods—the joys of climbing guava or mango trees, racing with bicycle tyres, setting up small bonfires, helping their grandmothers with traditional wood-fired stoves, and finding joy in keeping the fire going. These cherished moments of engaging with nature sparked joy and left an indelible mark on them.

However, as they transitioned into urban life, they noticed a stark contrast. The vibrant outdoor experiences of their youth were hard to come by in the concrete jungle of modern cities. One of the founding members, in particular, felt a deep yearning for the outdoor activities that once brought so much happiness and connection.

Driven by this longing, they embarked on a mission to recreate these experiences within the constraints of urban living. They wanted to offer a solution that could bring the essence of these memories into the lives of those who, like them, had moved away from natural settings. Thus, they envisioned a product that would allow urban dwellers to enjoy the warmth and camaraderie of a bonfire right in their balconies.

Evolution of the Company

Our journey began with the idea of reviving bonfire experiences in urban settings. We conducted extensive research and discovered that urban populations avoid bonfires for several reasons: the difficulty of setting up, excessive smoke, finding suitable wood, the need for accelerants, uncontrolled flames, mess, and the need for large open spaces.

After extensive research and countless hours of refining our design, we developed KOZY—a smokeless natural wood fire pit brand thoughtfully crafted to suit our community and environment. Our smokeless natural wood fire pits are designed to fit any outdoor space in urban settings, eliminating the challenges of traditional bonfires and achieving smokelessness within minutes.
